FRUTALES De acuerdo con los catastros frutícolas de ODEPA y el Centro de Información de Recursos Naturales (CIREN) para las distintas regiones, la superficie total plantada aumentó de casi 250.000 hectáreas en 2008 a más de 321.000 hectáreas en 2018, con un crecimiento de 29% en el período. Llama la atención el fuerte crecimiento que ha tenido el avellano europeo, con más de 280% de aumento en la última década. También han tenido incrementos importantes las plantaciones de cerezos, nogales, arándanos, mandarinos y olivos, que al menos han duplicado su superficie en la última década. La superficie total plantada de frutales sigue siendo liderada por la uva de mesa, con 14,9% del total. Le siguen nogales con 11,5%, manzanos con 10,6%, cerezos con 9,4% y paltos con 9%. Se estima que a 2018 la superficie total de frutales se ubica en torno a las 350.000 hectáreas, considerando los cambios ocurridos en las plantaciones en el periodo posterior al último catastro de cada región. 321.000 ha SUPERFICIE PLANTADA CATASTRADA ENTRE 2016 Y 2018 REGISTERED LAND AREA PLANTED WITH FRUIT CROPS BETWEEN 2016 AND 2018 II. FRUIT CROPS According to estimates by ODEPA-CIREN’s Registry for different regions, the total planted area increased from almost 250,000 hectares in 2008 to more than 321,000 hectares in 2018, an overall growth of 29% in the ten year period. Hazelnut (Corylus avellana L.) has seen a surprisingly strong growth of more than 280% increase in the last ten years. There have also been significant increases in the plantations of cherry, walnut, blueberry, mandarin and olive trees, which have more than doubled their area in the decade. The total area planted with fruit trees is still led by table‘s grape, with 14.9% of the total; followed by walnuts, with 11.5%, apple trees, with 10.6%; cherry trees, with 9.4% and avocados, with 9%. By 2018 the estimated otal area of ​fruit trees is around 350,000 hectares, considering the changes occurred in the plantations in the period after the last registry of each region.
