USO EFICIENTE DEL AGUA El Ministerio de Agricultura, a través de la Comisión Nacional de Riego (CNR), está trabajando en fomentar el uso eficiente del agua y el aumento de la superficie regada del país, fortaleciendo las capacidades de los agricultores y sus organizaciones y entregando herramientas para enfrentar los desafíos futuros, en especial aquellos derivados de la menor disponibilidad del recurso hídrico y de los efectos del cambio climático. Para ello, el gobierno para el próximo año ha inyectado recursos alcanzando a cifras históricas para el agro: aumento del 10% del presupuesto de la CNR llegando a 67.500 millones de pesos y la inclusión, por primera vez, de concursos de recarga de acuíferos por un monto cercano a 1.000 millones de pesos. Como sector, se está trabajando en acelerar la incorporación de nuevas tecnologías como la telemetría y energías renovables, junto con nuevas prácticas como la infiltración y la recarga de acuíferos, entre una serie de otras iniciativas que apuntan a la eficiencia de los recursos. III. EFFICIENT USE OF WATER The Ministry of Agriculture, through the National Irrigation Commission, (CNR) is working to promote the efficient use of water and increase the irrigated area of ​the country, strengthening the capacities of farmers and their organizations, providing tools to face future challenges, especially, those derived from the lower availability of water resources and the effects of climate change. During 2019, the Government has injected resources reaching historical figures for agriculture: an increase of 10% of the budget of the CNR to reach 67.500 million pesos and the inclusion, for the first time, of competitions to recharge aquifers by an amount close to 1.000 million of pesos. From a long term perspective, the sector is working to accelerate the incorporation of new technologies such as telemetry and renewable energies, and new practices such as infiltration and recharge of aquifers, among a series of other initiatives aimed at the enhancing an efficient use of water resources.
