Su actividad se centra en el fomento de los procesos de innovación y en actuar sobre el entorno y condiciones que los favorecen. Todo ello a través del financiamiento de iniciativas, de la generación de estrategias y la transferencia de información y resultados de proyectos y programas innovadores. www.fia.cl SERVICIO AGRÍCOLA Y GANADERO (SAG) “Cuidemos nuestra agricultura protegiendo la sanidad de animales y plantas” Tiene como misión apoyar el desarrollo de la agricultura nacional a través de la protección y mejoramiento de la condición de los recursos productivos silvoagropecuarios en sus dimensiones sanitaria, ambiental, genética y geográfica, y el desarrollo de la calidad agroalimentaria para apoyar la competitividad, sostenibilidad y equidad del sector. Por ello, le corresponde evitar la introducción desde el extranjero de enfermedades o plagas que puedan afectar a los animales o vegetales y dañar gravemente a la agricultura. www.sag.gob.cl FOUNDATION FOR AGRICULTURAL INNOVATION “Innovation in agriculture to create new opportunities” As the agricultural agency responsible for promoting innovation, FIA’s objective is to stimulate the competitiveness of domestic agriculture. Its activities are focused on fostering innovative practices, and more broadly establishing an environment that facilitates innovation. This is achieved by funding initiatives, developing strategies, and disseminating the details and results of innovative projects and programmes. AGRICULTURAL AND LIVESTOCK SERVICE. THE SANITARY AND PHYTOSANITARY (SPS) PROGRAM “Let us take care of our agriculture protecting the health of animals and plants” SAG’s mission is to protect and improve the conditions of productive agricultural, livestock and forestry resources in health, environmental, genetic and geographical terms; it also seeks to improve the quality of agricultural production to enhance competitiveness, sustainability, and fairness within the sector. It is the institution that is responsible for preventing the introduction from abroad of diseases or pests that may affect animals or plants and seriously damage agriculture.
