En Chile actualmente operan los 2 principales sistemas de certificación del sector forestal a nivel mundial: la certificación PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certifications Schemes) , a través de su homóloga nacional Certfor Chile; y la FSC ( Forest Stewardship Council ). En la actualidad más de la mitad de las 2,2 millones de hectáreas de plantaciones forestales establecidas en nuestro país se encuentra acreditada bajo alguno de estos sistemas. Currently there are two main certification systems operating in Chile’s forestry sector at the global level: the PEFC certification (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certifications Schemes), via its counterpart Certfor Chile, and the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). At present, more than half of the 2.2 million hectares of forestry plantations established in the country (INFOR/CONAF) have been certified under one of these two systems.
