The Ministry of Agriculture has ten Agricultural Attaché in major destination markets and agricultural and forestry exports Chilean food : United States, European Union, China, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Brazil, Russian Federation, Central America and India.
These offices are intended primarily to support and facilitate the process of transforming Chile into an agricultural power and forestry, so as to increase the presence of Chilean products in export markets .
The main specific features of the Agricultural Attaché are:
- Support the process of opening markets, acting as a liaison with the authority in the country of destination.
- Anticipate and resolve problems that hinder health and administrative export process.
- Generate market information, in order to communicate potential opportunities and threats for Chilean products in the target markets .
- Investigate issues of technological innovation actors interacting with public and private sector .
- Organize instances for attracting foreign investors in the forestry and agriculture sector .
